π Notion Setup
Notion exports require a one-time OAuth connection. The Notion API can only write into databases, so you'll need to share at least one database with the extension during setup.
Step 1: Open the extension settings & click Connect
- Open Perplexity and click the extension's Settings icon (βοΈ)
- Switch to the Advanced tab
- Find the "Notion not connected" card and click Connect
Click Connect to start OAuth
Step 2: Pick a database (not a page)
- Notion will open an OAuth screen asking which content to share
- Pick at least one database β table, board, list, gallery or calendar
- Avoid sharing only plain pages (e.g. "Welcome to Notion") β the API can't write into them
- If you don't have a database yet, create one in Notion first, then come back
Select at least one database during OAuth
Step 3: Choose default database & export
- After connecting, the card now shows a database dropdown
- Pick the database where Perplexity conversations will be saved by default
- Click Export to Notion on any conversation or message
- Add more databases later: use the link icon (π) in settings to share more databases without disconnecting
- Switch default database: just pick a different one from the dropdown
- Disconnect anytime: use the unlink icon in settings; tokens are removed from your browser
- Math & tables preserved: KaTeX/LaTeX inline math, code blocks and tables are converted to native Notion blocks
π¨ Advanced Style Settings
Customize the style and appearance of your exported files
1. Export Buttons Visibility
Choose which format buttons (Notion, Word, PDF, Google Docs, Markdown) appear on your Perplexity interface. Keep only the ones you use most to stay minimalist.
